So I went on e-bay and see if I could find a deal on them. I bid on a set that included the DVD’s and the workout and nutrition log and was the lucky bidder. I eagerly awaited it’s arrival but was still skeptical not exactly knowing what to expect and pretty much thinking this would just be another silly set of DVD’s.
I started week 1 strong and really enjoyed Tony Horton’s direction and the motivation he provided. Then came Plyo X, holy crap! That workout knocked me for a loop. They don’t call it the “mother of all P90X workouts” for nothing that’s for sure! The workouts are great and were a great addition to my regimen of yoga, pilates, and sculpt classes.
Last week was Week 8 a “rest” week that consisted of Core Syergistics, Yoga X, and Kenpo X. I enjoy almost all of the workouts with the exception of Core Synergistics. I’m not a fan of the “banana/superman” or the “Drea roll”. I absolutely love Kenpo, Yoga, and even Plyo X. I do wish there were more leg days. If you’re anything like me, legs & glutes are my “problem” area and I don’t get sore at all from Legs & Back day. Even with all the jumping, punching, and kicking, I add 2 leg days at the gym. I do a combination of plyometric moves along with squats, leg presses, hamstring curls, and leg extensions. In addition, I use the TRX® Suspension Trainer for explosive moves and suspended lunges and hamstring curls.
Overtraining? Possibly but I can’t just workout once a day very often. And, being a personal trainer, I end up doing a lot of exercises with clients as well.
Given my thyroid, leptin & insulin issues I have yet to see the amazing results as shown on TV or by the countless others out there that have done the program but I would highly recommend the P90X to anyone who is serious or wants to be serious about achieving their fitness goals.
P90X is fun and challenging. The worksheets are great because you don’t have to pop the DVD in to do the exercises, I’ve done everything on my own at the gym and still got a great workout. The other great thing about P90X is that it shows people who travel often how they can take their resistance bands anywhere and workout.
I am so glad I bought P90X and will provide additional updates over the coming weeks. Until then, stay strong and continue to give your all to what you want to achieve. It all starts with a single step.

I am now on week 11, today was Kenpo X. I did my workout at 5:45 a.m. then trained client’s all day. It’s now 4:30 p.m. and I’m exhausted! But, in a good way 🙂
Since my last posting, I have become an independent Beachbody Coach and I’m thrilled to be part of such a great organization.
